Passion For Needy, an NGO set up to provide need-based assistance to the needy in society has presented food and other items including pharmaceutical drugs to the inmates of the Nsawam Medium Prisons to mark the NGO’s 2025 Founders’ Day.
The items included bags of rice, boxes of spaghetti, bathing soap, gallons of cooking oil, liquid soap, cartons of canned fish, canned tomato paste, packs of bottled water, soft drinks, washing powder soap, toilet rolls, and cartons of various pharmaceutical drugs.
The Chairperson for Passion For Needy, Mrs. Janet Torgbor El – Aschkar in her remarks said that the presentation is meant to address the current challenging times facing the facility.
She said that as government initiates measures to reduce the burden on the facility, the NGO finds it necessary to also contribute their little substance to achieve the desired goal.
Receiving the items on behalf of the inmates, Assistant Director of Prisons, Mohammed Mukhtar Adam and DSP Lydia Adenyo both thanked Passion For Needy for the kind gesture. They advised the public not to be judgmental of the inmates but to support the facility to transform them. They urged other individuals and organisations to emulate the example of Passion For Needy. The Passion For Needy Founder’s Day Donation is an annual event that is done to acknowledge the contribution made by the Founder, Prophet T.B. Joshua to the organization and to celebrate his birthday which falls on the 12 th of June.
