Passion For Needy, an NGO set up to provide need-based assistance to the needy in society has presented various items to the needy at Tema New Town in the Greater Accra Region to celebrate Christmas.
The items included bags of rice, cooking oil, canned fish, canned tomato paste, biscuits, bottled water, soft drinks, and half pieces of cloths to sow for the occasion and scarf.
The Chairperson for Passion For Needy, Mrs. Janet Torgbor El – Aschkar in her remarks said that the presentation is meant to address some of the issues in the current challenging times in the country.
According to her, the elderly men and women among the beneficiaries especially have so much experience in various ways which the younger generation can tap into to enrich their future. “As such, they cannot be allow to face the challenging times alone.”, She added.
She said that as government initiates measures to reduce the burden on the citizens, the NGO finds it necessary to also contribute their little substance to achieve the desired goal.
Receiving the items on behalf of the beneficiaries, Honourable Joshua Aguda, the Assembly Man for the Area thanked Passion For Needy for the kind gesture. He urged other individuals and organisations to emulate the example.
Passion For Needy since its inception in the year 2009 by Prophet T.B.Joshua has provided support to various communities which includes part of the Coastal Communities in the Greater Accra Region, Pra Ewusi Community in the Central Region, Adeiso in the Eastern Region, Ashiaman also in the Greater Accra Region, and Krisan Refugee Camp in the Western Region.
The organization has also supported privately owned charitable organizations including Teshie and Nungua Children’s Homes, Christ Faith Forster Home, Street Academy, YOA Foundation, and Islamic Research Institute for their efforts in addressing some of these challenges.
