Passion For Needy, an NGO set up to provide need-based assistance to the needy in society has donated food and other items to the Osu Childrens Home in Accra Ghana.

The donated items which was provided at the request of the institution included bags of rice, cooking oil, canned fish, canned tomato paste, bottled water, soft drinks, washing powder, bar soap, toilet rolls and pharmaceutical products at a total cost Gh¢ 21,000.00.

The Chairperson for Passion For Needy (NGO) Mrs. Janet Torgbor El – Aschkar in her remarks thanked the Osu Childrens Home for the opportunity to donate in support of the welfare of the children in the facility.

She recounted the NGO’s friendship with Osu Childrens Home which began on October, 2010 when the organisation provided the maiden support to the facility. “The NGO has ever since looked forward to an opportunity to provide much needed support to the facility.” she added.

According to her, the NGO decided to dedicate this year’s Founder’s Day Donation to the Home as a result of the wish list submitted by the facility. She said that the organization have the believe that their “widows might” will make the difference in the lives of the children even as government works to address the major challenges facing the Home.

Mrs. Aschkar used the opportunity to thank the staff and management of Pharmanova Ghana Limited for their immense contribution to the NGO’s activities.

Receiving the items on behalf of the beneficiaries, Ms. Nana Akua, the Human Resource Officer of the Osu Childrens Home thanked Passion For Needy for the kind gesture. She urged other individuals and organisations to emulate the example.

As part of the package for the day, the children were treated to a special buffet lunch during the NGO’s interaction with the staff and children of the Home.

The Passion For Needy Founder’s Day Donation is an annual event that is done to acknowledge the contribution made by the Founder, Prophet T.B. Joshua to the organization and to celebrate his birthday which falls on the 12 th of June.
