Passion For Needy (PFN), an NGO set up to provide need – based assistance to individuals, organizations and communities has paid medical bills for 26 persons at the Korle – Bu Teaching Hospital for them to be discharge.
An amount of Gh₵25,000.00 was paid for these individuals who have been treated but are unable to pay for their bills over a period of time.
In presenting the Cheque, the Chairperson of PFN, Mrs. Janet Torgbor El – Aschkar said that this exercise is synonymous with our organisation especially during its early days of establishment. “We ensure that we put smiles on the faces of all persons during the Christmas period so that they can unite and celebrate with their families”.
She said that since its establishment in 2009, the organization has carried out this activity not only at Korle – Bu Teaching Hospital but also in other health facilities including the Greater Accra Regional Hospital and the Manna Mission Hospital.
The PFN Chairperson also said that the NGO has been supporting government efforts in health through the provision of pharmaceutical drugs and other medical equipment to some health facilities including the 37 Military Hospital and Shai Osu Doku District Hospital.
Mrs. Aschkar said that discharging patients to join their families during the yuletide has always been the joy of the Founder of PFN, the late Prophet T. B. Joshua and that is why the NGO found it necessary to continue this activity.
Receiving the Cheque, the Chief Nursing Officer at the Administration of the Korle – Bu Teaching Hospital, Mrs. Grace Anyomi thanked PFN for the kind gesture and encouraged other individuals and groups to emulate their example.
