
Passion For Needy, an NGO set up to provide need-based assistance to the needy in society joined the elderly people at Tsokpoli in the Greater Accra Region to celebrate Christmas.
The NGO provided the selected elderly people with bags of rice, cooking oil, canned fish, canned tomato paste, bottled water, soft drinks, cooked food, and a half piece of cloth to sow for the occasion. In addition, each person was given an amount of money to take care of the sowing of the cloth.
The Chairperson for Passion For Needy, Mrs. Janet Torgbor El – Aschkar in her remarks said that it has always been a pleasure for the members to meet elderly people who have contributed so much to mother Ghana.
According to her, the elderly have so much wisdom, knowledge and understanding which the younger generation can tap to enrich their lives. “These and many more show how important they are to us.”, She added.
She however acknowledged the difficult times that the nation is going through and the need to support each other until the nation come out of these difficulties.
Mrs. Janet Torgbor El – Aschkar said that the NGO was directed to reach out to the elderly people during this yuletide by Pastor Evelyn Joshua, the wife of Prophet T.B. Joshua. Accordingly, the organization decided to join the elderly at Tsokpoli for this purpose.
The Chairperson for the NGO used the occasion to thank the staff and management of Pharmanova Ghana Limited for their continuous contribution to the NGO’s activities.
Receiving the items on behalf of the beneficiaries, Honourable Hannah Apenteng, Assembly Woman for the Area thanked Passion For Needy for the kind gesture. She urged other individuals and organisations to emulate the example.
Passion For Needy since its inception in the year 2009 by Prophet T.B.Joshua has provided support to various communities which includes part of the Coastal Communities in the Greater Accra Region, Pra Ewusi Community in the Central Region, Adeiso in the Eastern Region, Ashiaman also in the Greater Accra Region, and Krisan Refugee Camp in the Western Region.
The organization has also supported privately owned charitable organizations including Teshie and Nungua Children’s Homes, Christ Faith Forster Home, Street Academy, YOA Foundation, and Islamic Research Institute for their efforts in poverty alleviation.
