The President’s nominee for the position of District Chief Executive (DCE) for Dormaa East District, Honourable Osei Owusu King has been confirmed by the District’s Assembly Members.
The 58-year-old business man and a full member of Qnet Quest Global polled 22 ‘yes’ votes out of the total 30 vote cast to secure more than the two-thirds majority required.
The newly elected DCE in his acceptance speech following his confirmation said that he was overwhelmed with the 73% endorsement and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the President of the republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, Regional Executives, Nananom, Assembly Members and all who made his confirmation possible.
He therefore promised faithfulness to the call to serve his people and country. He also promised hard work, diligence and truthfulness in what he termed a privilege to service. He called for unity and support from all stakeholders to develop the District.
The same event saw the election and swearing in of the Presiding Member (PM) who is an elected member from the Merenfiriwuo and Abroso Electoral Area of the District, Honourable Isaac Afi and also the swearing in of 9 new government appointees.
The Bono Regional Minister Honourable Joseph Addae Akwaboah as well as the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Maxwell Mark Mensah called on all and sundry to eschew any grudges and personal sentiments and rather foster collaboration for the development of the District and the progress of the resetting agenda of the government.
Present at the short ceremony were Nananom, the Regional NDC Party Chairman, Honourable Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo, the Member of Parliament for the area, Madam Racheal Owusuaa, Justices of the Regional High Court, and the general public.
