The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Dormaa East, Hon. Osei Owusu King, has embarked on a courtesy tour, engaging with chiefs and residents throughout the District to understand and address their needs directly.
The DCE’s tour serves as a proof to his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and is anticipated to cultivate collaboration and transparency, thereby paving the way for targeted development that will benefit all communities within the District.
The visit, which commenced in Akontanim, continued with stops in Kyeremasu, Subinkrom, and Komkom. It was also designed to create platforms for dialogue, familiarization, and community engagement.
During these interactions, community leaders, through their respective Assembly Members articulated critical needs including the extension of electricity, provision of clean water and sanitation, healthcare, security, education, as well as access to road networks and employment opportunities. Additional concerns included issues related to illegal mining and stray animals damaging valuable properties.
Hon. Owusu King, who underscored his commitment to delivering development to the doorsteps of every community, explained that these meetings are part of a broader initiative to fortify his relationship with the substructures and to ensure that development projects are aligned with the genuine needs of the populace.
He assured authorities and community members that their concerns have been duly noted and will be given appropriate consideration in the District’s development planning.
He advocated for a collaborative approach to development, urging Nananom, Unit Committee Members, Assembly Members, and citizens to unite behind the District Assembly and the Member of Parliament, Madam Racheal Owusuaa, with each entity fulfilling its role for the collective good.
At Kyeremasu, he commended the community for their enthusiastic participation in the inaugural National Sanitation Day and urged all residents across the District to participate for its success.
The Directors and Unit Heads accompanying him took turns to explain the different government policies currently being implemented and the conditions associated with accessing them. Other Directors focused on the reciprocal responsibilities that citizens and the District Assembly owe to each other.
The DCE and his entourage were warmly welcomed by Nananom, who offered prayers for them and pledged their support for the development of their District and communities. In their remarks, they expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama and his government for various interventions and policies. They prayed for the government and the prosperity of Ghana, hoping that disasters similar to what occurred on August 6, 2025, would never recur.
