
The Ministry of the Interior has declared Monday, 22nd September, 2025 as a statutory public holiday to mark this year’s Founder’s Day.
This was contained in a Press Statement issued and signed by the Minister for the Interior, Honorable Muntaka Mohammed – Mubarak (MP).
The statement further explained that in view of the fact that 21st September 2025 falls on a Sunday and in the interest of the general public, His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana has by Executive Instrument (EI) in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act (Act 601) as amended declared Monday, 22nd September, 2025 as an additional public holiday.
According to the statement, the two days should be observed as such throughout the country.
