A District Planning Committee to implement the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving has been inaugurated in Dormaa East.
This forms part of the broader national initiative to observe July 1st as both a Holy and Holiday in the history of the country.
The 8-Member Committee drawn from the Muslim and Christian faith, the Traditional Council as well as Assembly Members and Assembly Staff would take on the responsibility of organizing and coordinating all activities necessary to mark the day in the District.
In a short remarks to inaugurate the Committee, the District Chief Executive, Honourable Osei Owusu King reminded the Committee Members to be mindful of the goal for the day to ensure its fulfillment and success.
He reiterated the need for the event to give room for reflection, thanksgiving, unity and ensure national development.
The Chairman of the Committee who is the Gyasihene of the Akwamu Traditional Council, Nana Osei Yaw on behalf of the other members promised to give out the best for a successful programme.
