Passion For Needy, an NGO set up to provide need-based assistance to the needy is to award educational scholarships to two brilliant but needy pupil at the Street Academy.
The educational scholarships which will take effect from the next academic year is from the basic to university level.
This was disclosed by the Chairperson of the NGO, Mrs. Janet Torgbor El – Aschkar during the presentation of food and other items to the institution for the Easter celebration.
She said that the award of the educational scholarship is in line with NGO’s commitment in supporting government’s efforts in alleviating poverty in the country.
The Chairperson reiterated that as government initiates measures to reduce the burden on the citizens, the NGO will also come in with the necessary support to achieve the desired goal.
Items presented included rice, canned fish, vegetable oil, tomato paste, biscuits, soft drinks, bottled water and packs of sachet water, packs of toilet rolls, and powdered soap.
Passion For Needy since its inception in the year 2009 has supported privately owned charitable organizations including Teshie and Nungua Children’s Homes, Christ Faith Foster Home at Frafraha, YOA Foundation, Accra Rehabilitation Centre, The Ghana Society for the Socially Disadvantaged, Bubuiashie, and the Islamic Research Institute at Nima for their efforts in addressing challenges in society.
