The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Dormaa East District Assembly, Honourable Osei Owusu King, met with Institutional, Departmental and Units heads of the District to familiarize himself with their roles and responsibility.
Officers used the opportunity to introduce themselves, provide details of their duties and brief him on activities and projects being undertaken in their respective Units. They also spoke about their successes, challenges faced in carrying out their work as well as some suggestions on the way forward.
The DCE who expressed his excitement to meet with the heads was also thankful for their support during his confirmation. He emphasized the need for effective communication, coordination, and cooperation among stakeholders to achieve the common goal of developing the District. He assured them that his doors would always be opened for collaboration and ideas sharing in the interest of the District.
Honourable Owusu King therefore, advised the leaders to also work closely with their respective staff to ensure successful implementation of government policies and programmes and uphold transparency and accountability to build public confidence in the Assembly.
The District Coordinating Director, Mr. Mark Maxwell Mensah; who arranged for the meeting helped in clarifying the responsibilities of each department and units and how best they collaborate to contribute to the overall goals of the District. He commended the punctuality of leaderships and advised them to stick to professionalism and ethics associated with their work and allow space for the new DCE to flow in his own leadership style to ensure smooth running of the Assembly to ensure development.
Others present at the meeting, were Departmental heads from the District Health Directorate, the Education Directorate, Agric Directorate, Births and Deaths, Physical Planning Department, Statistical Service, Information Services Department, Development Planning, Social Welfare and Community Development, Finance and Administration, Works Department, the Human Resource Department, the Environmental Water and Sanitation Unit, the Revenue Unit, Budget Unit and the Audit Unit.
